Wilburn Edward Scott

Wilburn Edward Scott was born on February 7, 1893 in Kingston, Louisiana. In 1909, Scott entered LSU in the College of Arts and Sciences and graduated in 1912 with a bachelor of arts from the Teachers College. Scott eventually became a school primcipal in Slaughter, Louisiana. In 1918, Scott enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve and was stationed at Algiers, Louisiana where he trained to be a radio technician. Shortly before leaving for Harvard College to continue his training, Scott contracted influenza and died on February 9, 1919 at the Naval Hospital in Algiers. He is buried at Greenwood Cemetary in Shreveport.
